How do you get your horse to take the right lead?

When you are teaching a young horse to lead off with the right hoof are there special methods that are more effective then just ‘trying till they do it?’
lol
Every time my Quarter horse canters she wants to always lead with her right hoof. This is a problem when going to the left.
help please.

Just getting through this problem myself. Persistence and asking on a circle really helps. I always started from a trot, got him nicely balanced on the circle and then asked. And yes, if he was wrong I would continue to pull him up to the trot and try again and again until he got it. When he did pick up the proper lead I always gave him a pat and after a little canter I would try it all over again. I also made sure that he would bend in the corners and had to get that sorted out first.Took us 2 months and we still have the occasional wrong lead but nothing at all like when I got him.
