The Earth’s Greatest Five Horse Grooming Tips
The horse is well known for her beauty, speed, and power. These things just come naturally to horses. They gain great strength and speed simply by running around. However, trainers can make horses stronger by having them do certain tasks to increase their strength. Trainers may even help their horses with exercises to make them quicker.
Even though most horse owners do not have a need to make their equine friends stronger or faster, making them look their best can’t hurt. I wrote this article to tell you exactly how you can make your horse prettier. I’ll go through my top five horse grooming tips to making your equine as beautiful as possible.
The first thing one must do is to buy the proper horse grooming supplies. This way you’ll be able to get everything done at once and it will be less likely that you will forget things. A body brush, curry comb, mane and tail comb, and a hoof pick, should all be in your horse grooming kit.
Next, you’ll want to start cleaning your horse from top to bottom. It seems that people that are new to cleaning horses tend to begin cleaning from the bottom. After this, they clean the horse’s back and much of the dirt and mud runs right down the horses back and onto the clean lower body. Avoid this by washing the top of the horse before you wash the bottom.
After you have finished this, you’ll need to ensure that you wash the hoofs before you begin to pick them. Attempting to pick the hoof out before you wash it will just make everything much harder. You’ll end up having to pick it again once you’ve washed everything out.
Once you’ve done this, you might want to use a conditioner or spray on your horse to help everything grow out nicely. Even a super clean horse will look bad if its horse hair is not in good health. A good conditioning spray will keep the hair growing nicely.
Lastly, make sure you always dry your horse off and keep them in a clean area until they are completely dry. A wet horse will attract lots of dirt very quickly if left out in an open field. You’ll feel so sad seeing all of your hard work being messed up right away.
