For one day, stay with a toddler and surely you will learn so many things like how to have fun and how to be patient at the same time. But naturally, children are cute, innocent and full of ideas. Then again, the society that people are living in today illustrates a world full of aggression, brutality and cruelty. The children’s innocent nature becomes corrupted. Sadly, things that defile their minds can begin at home. Cultivate in your kids, the concept about love so that they will not be corrupted.
Love is a simple concept but very complex to comprehend. It is consequential for parents to know that they are key players in instructing their kids about love. Teach Kids That Real Love Is Unconditional Love
Based on research, kids rebel because they feel that they are mistakes and that their parents do not love them. So if you are a parent, never ever let your kid feel that they are not loved or they are hated. No one is perfect so do not hate your kid if he commits a mistake even if it is the biggest fault ever.
Moreover, to teach the concept of unconditional love, explain to kids that there is a God. God is a wonderful father. If parents can reject them or make them feel detested, the Heavenly Father will never fall short in loving them. God accepts them even if they make mistakes. If a kid knows that they are loved unreservedly, they will develop credence, security and positive attitude towards self and others.
Describe The Various Kinds Of Love And The Kind Of Love That The Bible Teaches
There are several kinds of love like storge, philia, eros and agape. It is important to teach the different kinds of love to kids so that they will understand why people show their love in countless ways. There are so many self help books and manuals that demonstrate their differences. Still, the bible teach the real meaning of love. The kind of love that is self-less. The life of Jesus is an admirable example to teach kids about love, the unconditional love that God has for people and how He gave Jesus as an ultimate sacrifice for mankind.
Teach Love By Example
Parents are role models to kids. Love must begin at home. Ideally, kids should live in an environment where people are not ashamed to show that they care. As the saying goes, “Live what you preach”. It will be impossible to instill in your kids the concept of love, if you yourself does not know how to love.
When children feel that they are important and that their family loves and cares for them, they will feel confident and secure. What more, if they know that somebody loves them for who they are and not because they are good.
As the bible says in the book of proverbs “Train up a child the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it”. The early stage of development is very essential. You should be very careful on what ideals you teach the kids. If you teach them about love, it should be in easy and clear terms. Do not expect them to learn in a day or two. Encourage them to ask questions or if possible teach them through examples. Finally, teaching about love is different to an average school matter. It is a lifetime learning experience. Be very patient and let your kids feel that you love them.
